WACY's 3rd annual YouthSpeak hosted 17 youth speakers from across Washtenaw County. Speakers shared their testimonies to 9 listening panelists, including our co-sponsor, State Representative Adam Zemke. This year's prompt asks, "What encourages or prevents you from going to school?"

Testimonies touched on positive and negative relationships with school staff, peers, family and their communities, as well as bullying, home issues, high stakes testing and stress, lack of after-school programs, early school start times, and classes that do not feel relevant.
